Parents Association

More House is fortunate enough to have a very active and effective Parents' Association. All parents at More House belong to the Parents' Association, but its activities and events are planned by the Organising Committee, led by the present Chairs, Mary Chapman and Louise Portman.

The role of the Parents' Association is:

  • To provide social events for parents and girls;
  • To assist with the School’s special projects through funding activities; and
  • To be a conduit between the School’s present and prospective parents with regard to School and educational matters generally.

The Association provides invaluable support for the School.

Each year the Parents' Association organises a series of events for parents, including talks on topics which range from drug and alcohol abuse through to surviving the teen-age years intact, as well as a Welcome Reception for New Parents, quiz nights and a farewell party each year for the UVIth leavers.

The Parents' Association raises substantial sums of money for the School. It main fundraising event is the annual Christmas Fayre. Projects which the Parents’ Association have supported include: the redecoration of the VIth Form Common Rooms; the flooring and sound systems for the Drama and Dance Studio; improvements in the ICT facilities, refurbishment of the School Chapel and the purchase School Netball Kits for tournaments.

The Organising Committee meets on average once or twice a term and is always on the lookout for new members! The Chair can be contacted via the School Office.
