No matter where your daughters
life takes her, she will need the character and
strength of mind to exercise self-discipline, provide
leadership, work as a part of a team, act as a role
model and take decisions. Her experiences in and
out of the classroom at More House will allow her
to develop these positive attributes. Her life will
be enriched by the many activities we offer as part
of the multifaceted cultural and aesthetic life
of the school. We will help her lay the foundations
for a healthy, happy, contented and successful adult
life, while also building her physical strength
and mental resilience.
A wide range of extra-curricular activities is available
to the girls both at lunchtime and after school.
Our clubs and societies are designed not only to
widen your daughter's experiences beyond the classroom
but also to allow her to have fun with her peers
and members of other Year Groups. Members of the
VIth Form are often involved in running these activities
which range across the physical, intellectual and
creative plains, from Film Club to the Board Games
Society, via the Paper Engineers and Photography
Club. There are also subject clubs such as Art Club,
Sewing Club and Drama Club. We offer the Duke of
Edinburgh's Award Scheme to all senior girls who
wish to take part and regular expedition opportunities
are offered in the Summer Term. The School mounts
language trips abroad, along with sports tours and
ski trips.

The House structure
Named after pilgrimage sites which reflect the
various aspects of our community (Canterbury,
Iona, Santiago, Walsingham) the Houses are the
central to the extra-curricular life of the School.
Everyone ~ pupils and staff ~ belongs to a House,
with the exception of the Head, the Deputy and
the Senior Teacher. The Houses are led by a combination
of the House Captain, drawn from the girls, and
the Head of House, drawn from the Staff. Throughout
the year there is an exciting programme of inter-House
competitions in sport, creative and performing
arts, general knowledge, and mental gymnastics.
In addition there is a 'House of the Week' competition,
along with 'House of the Term' and 'House of the
Year'. Pupils can contribute to their House’s
weekly total by earning credits for good work
and helpful behaviour, as well as taking part
in House competitions
