The School Play and The School Musical run on a carousel system:
School Play - There is a biannual school play which is performed in the dining room in early December. Auditions for this take place at the beginning of the autumn term. The Drama Department seek to involve as many girls as possible both on stage and off stage. Previous productions have included: Lorca's The House of Bernada Alba, Shakespeare's Twelfth Night, Joan Littlewood's Oh! What a Lovely War, and Dickens’ A Christmas Carol…
School Musical - There is a biannual school musical which is performed at a local and professional theatre in early December. Past venues have included the St Columba’s Church Bhavan Centre and Posk Theatre. Auditions for this take place at the beginning of the autumn term. The Drama and Music Department work collaboratively in the run up to this musical extravaganza and there are many opportunities to get involved; such as: acting, singing, make-up designing, costume designing/sourcing, set designing, lighting designing and props making. Previous productions have included: Frank Loesser’s Guys & Dolls, Sondeheim's Into The Woods, Bertolt Brecht and Kurt Weill's Threepenny Opera and Gilbert and Sullivan's The Mikado. Drama Club - a weekly lunchtime drama club run by the sixth form for the lower school. This can involve scripted, devised or improvised work.
House Talent - This provides a platform for drama and performance during the Easter term. Girls showcase their many talents and these are judged by senior staff members. It makes for an extmely enjoyable lunch hour. In the past talents have included: singing, dancing, a crofts dog routine, poetry recitals and comedy skits.
House Entertainment - an inter-house competition which involves movement, dance and drama skills. This is a fun event held at the end of the summer term and is judged by the senior staff.
