The annual art exhibition is the highlight of the art department’s calendar - it is an important opportunity for girls to showcase their academic achievements and this year’s event certainly did not disappoint. We are so grateful to Miss Devine, Ms Rigby, and Ms Yate for their efforts in ensuring this year’s event was such a huge success. Thank you also to all the pupils, family members, and staff who joined us at this special event, to celebrate the girls’ hard work and the talents they have been developing in art throughout the year.
It was fantastic seeing the new projects the girls have been working on in and out of class: year 7’s pop art boats, year 8’s sumi-e concertina books and plaster cast relief tiles, and year 9’s bedrooms in a box. In the public examination years, the GCSE and A-level artwork was especially stunning.
Huge congratulations to our prize-winners in all year groups as well as each pupil who has produced work for this year’s show. The level of enthusiasm and creativity was truly impressive!
We were also thrilled to receive great feedback from our guests of honour, Dr Sophie Dauvois and Rachel Ortas, founders of OKIDO. It is always interesting seeing how the subjects we study in isolation can complement each other in the working world!
