Year 7 and 12 were treated to a Karate session in their PE lesson by Sensei Maria from FSKA UK. Alongside one of our own students, Yesim (L6th), she led a wonderful session for the girls that had them learning the fundamentals of the sport. Following this Yesim and Sensi Maria led a Kata.
“Hi, I am Ivy and I have just joined Year 7 in September. I wanted to say how much fun my karate lesson in PE was. Thank you to the sixth former, Yesim and Sensei who took their time out of their day to teach us. I am so grateful for the lesson. We learnt so many interesting things. They taught it to us at different levels. First we learnt the normal punch then we learnt the flying kick and finally the kick. Thanks to this lesson I feel like I am more able to protect myself”.
