Mr Roberts, Mrs Garwood and Ms Gallagher lead our Year 7 students on a World Book Day Tour around some of the largest bookstores in London – including Foyles and Waterstones (the largest bookstore in Europe). The students were lucky enough to be able to have a guided tour around both of these stores and were even able to merchandise the Young Adult Fiction section of Waterstones. Upon heading back to school the students enjoyed an afternoon reading some of the books they had chosen. What a fantastic way to spend World Book Day.

Alongside this, the English Department was thrilled to be able to bring back the annual World Book Day Door Competition this year.

Each form across the school was invited to choose their favourite book and then decorate their form day to reflect that book. Pre-Covid competition was fierce and this year was no exception. Our students worked hard in the lead up to the day and doors across the school look incredible. Entries include: Where’s Wally, Charlie and The Chocolate Factory, The Very Hungry Caterpillar, Mary Poppins, The Faraway Tree, A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder and The Great Gatsby.
