The Consortium reviewed last year’s application process and have decided to use the ISEB Common Pre-Test as our preliminary assessment test for entry in 2022. The ISEB is a two and a half hour computer-based test covering Verbal and Non-verbal reasoning, English and Maths. Familiarisation tests can be found on the ISEB website or via this link. The tests can be taken one after the other or on different days and can either be sat at your daughter’s own prep or primary school, More House or another school in the consortium. The date for the examination to be sat at More House is Monday 29th November and we may run both a session in the morning and in the afternoon depending on requirement. Each consortium school you have registered your daughter at will have access to her test results and there is no benefit to sitting at one school or another. Your daughter can only sit the tests once.
The deadline for registration for entry into Year 7 2022 is Friday 12th November and all exams need to be sat by Friday 10th December. Once registered you will be sent an entrance test form to find out which other schools your daughter is applying to and where she would like to sit the exam. You will also need to send us any educational psychologists reports by the closing date for registrations.
At More House however, we look beyond exam results and place as much emphasis on her interview and the reference from her current school. Your daughter will be invited to a selection morning or afternoon which will be taking place on Saturday 20th November. The session will consist of taster lessons in a number of subjects which allow us to gain a complete picture of her skills and strengths, along with an interview with one of our senior leadership team. The interview and reference form important parts of the assessment process enabling us to get to know each child individually, thereby giving us a more complete picture of each candidate’s unique personality and ability. Please note that we will invite all girls who register with us to this selection process.
We offer academic scholarships in addition to music, sport, drama and art & design scholarships. Please see our scholarship programme booklet. There will be additional interviews and assessments for scholarships in January 2022.
When submitting your daughter’s application form for the scholarship she would like to apply for please ensure this is accompanied by a letter of recommendation from the most appropriate teacher at her current school. A limited number of bursaries are offered to girls joining us in Year 7. Please contact our Registrar for more information about this process.
Offers will be emailed out on Friday 11th February 2022 and the closing date for acceptances is 12 noon on Monday 7th March 2022.
For further information about the admissions process please visit the London 11+ Consortium website.
We recommend you visit us not just once, but as many times as you can. Each time you visit you are likely to speak to different teachers who will fire your daughter’s enthusiasm for a subject or have a tour with a pupil who will be able to tell you about a different facet of school life which they particularly enjoy. Tours can be booked directly from our ‘open events’ section of the website.
If you are looking for an occasional place for your daughter in a different year group or are perhaps looking for her to join our sixth form, please contact me directly to discuss this as we do have a different assessment process.
We look forward to meeting you soon and please do not hesitate to call if you would like further information about More House or to discuss our admissions process further. firstname.lastname@example.org
