Here are a few words from Ms Skinner about this year’s Art Exhibition

It has been a great pleasure teaching Art at More House School in the last two terms and seeing the pupils develop their creative confidence and skills. I think that it has been very beneficial organising the first Art Exhibition, post pandemic, to showcase the pupil’s achievements and celebrate their individual successes. As acting Head of Art, I have been very impressed with the enthusiastic and positive attitude that the pupils have shown towards their artistic learning and experimentation.

The Year 11 and 13 Art students worked on a main unit entitled “Structures & Surfaces”. This open ended title gave each student a wide range of sub-themes to explore according to their interests and preferred art mediums. The A-Level Textiles students have impressed me with their imaginative designs and careful stitchwork. In KS3 a range of projects were undertaken, with an overall theme of colour and natural forms. I am very proud of the work that all year groups have produced and it was a fantastic event, enjoyed by all!

A big thank you to everyone who made the evening possible, including Ms Yate and Ms Wilson, Miss Calderwood and the pupils who performed so beautifully. Thanks also to Ms Hagerty and Mr Bogle, our architect governor who assisted with the prize giving, Mr Keeley for helping with logistics and the Parents’ Association for providing refreshments. Last, but not least, to Miguel our caretaker for assisting with the installation of the display boards.
